The CIPA Education Committee is working to build value for our members and nonmembers through interesting and valuable offerings.

CIPA’s objective is to excite and inspire through the monthly meetings and then follow up with Focus Forums (formerly Armchair) and supporting classes offered through CIPA college.

Tuesday, October 4

Our first Focus Forum is set to provide more “e” information (e-books, e-publishing, e-marketing) and will be held on Tuesday, October 4 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the Barnes and Noble Store, 960 S. Colorado Blvd. in Glendale (North of I-25 and Colorado Blvd).

The agenda will cover demonstrations of the color capabilities of the NOOK and its value and impact for authors by NOOK Manager, Martin Baker.

In addition, Mandi Pralle of Visual Persuasion will go into greater detail on the design tools, formatting, and conversions using Adobe InDesign and epub (official standard of the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF). Her objective is to show, first-hand, how conversions from manuscript to eformat are done and then show how the format looks on the Nook.
