Projects and Programs

 Book Benefit Program

The Book Benefit Program (BBP) accepts books from various donors and provides the books to other 501(c)(3) and publicly funded organizations.  The organizations are selected based on need and verification that the books will be used to further the educational, literacy and community awareness purposes of CIPA ELF.

As part of the Book Benefit Program, CIPA ELF is partnering with the Rotary Club of Conifer to donate books to mountain area schools and libraries.  In addition, CIPA ELF is also partnering with the Literacy Committees of Rotary Clubs throughout Colorado to facilitate publisher book contributions for reading and writing programs.

Some of the organizations served include:

Craig Hospital

Children’s Hospital

Friends of Food for Thought

Jefferson County Public Library

Summit County Library

Park County Public Library

Poudre River Public Library District

Douglas County Library

Arapahoe County Library

Pikes Peak Library District

Mountain Peace Shelter

Mountain Resource Center

Conifer High School

Platte Canyon High School

Memoir Preservation Project

To further foster its education, literacy and education purposes, CIPA ELF offers senior citizens the opportunity to preserve historical individual life experiences.

An adjunct to the CIPA Memoir Program, this program is designed specifically to assist those senior citizens who do not have the ability and/or resources to write and preserve memoirs and experiences that have historical significance.

Approved participants will work with volunteers who will record, transcribe and edit their oral information in order to produce and publish a book.

The book will be donated to appropriate historical organizations and made available to the public with all proceeds going to CIPA ELF.

Young Authors League

Prior and Ongoing YAL Projects

The Young Authors League (YAL) sponsors projects that emphasize literacy skills for elementary and middle school children.  Past projects have included writing competitions, author visits to participating schools and providing schools with much needed, but unavailable, educational and literacy supplies such as pencils, art supplies, writing paper, etc.

Making the world a better place book

In 2010 CIPA and CIPA ELF co-sponsored a short story writing and art contest for fourth and fifth graders from Denver’s Cherry Creek School District.  The winning stories and artwork were published by CIPA ELF in a book titled “Making the World a Better Place: Student Stories About Making a Difference.”  Copies of the book are available with all proceeds going to support CIPA ELF’s literacy programs.
